Getting started
A nurse staffing company/agency is a business that provides nurses and other healthcare professionals to healthcare entities who need more contract/temporary personnel, such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, and physician offices. Nurses and healthcare professionals are normally recruited by the agency to work temporary contracts at these facilities because of times when they are short-staffed, or there is a rise in census, or to cover for periods when full-time staff is on leave or vacation.
There are two important aspects in any agency that need to be performed effectively in order to succeed. First is recruiting. It is important to be able to attract suitable candidates for jobs through the use of social media, networking, effective job postings. Second is operations. And the demand for nurses will continue to significantly grow in healthcare settings, like acute care, home health, long-term care, life sciences, and medical device.
Earnings are unlimited and are based on the number of employees actively on payroll working on contract for you. On average by the end of its second year of business, a traditional nurse agency can have up to 50 healthcare professionals actively on contract before the end of their second year of business and reach annual profits of $250k to $500k.

In the eyes of the IRS, however, LLC taxes usually resemble a sole proprietorship or partnership. The LLC does not pay income taxes itself; instead, the owners list business profits and losses on their personal tax returns. The LLC can choose to tax itself as a corporation.
